Darling, Ruthie Bernice

Ruthie DarlingROSCOE, IL/BELOIT— Ruthie Bernice Darling, 72, of Roscoe, IL, formerly of Beloit, died Friday, Aug. 24, 2007, in the Beloit Memorial Hospital. She was born on Jan. 21, 1935, near Wales, ND, daughter of Chris and Clara (Kjemus) Amoth. She married Lee O. Darling on August 31, 1952, in Langdon, ND. They moved to Beloit in 1955. Ruthie was employed by Goldberg’s Bridal Shoppe and later employed by the A.S.C.S. office in Janesville, WI. In 1969 she moved overseas to be with her husband and his work. Their travels took them to South Africa, South America, Panama, Ecuador and Saudi Arabia, before moving home in 1989. She returned to work at the Natural Resource Conservation Department in Janesville, WI, until she retired in November, 2000. Ruthie was an active member and past President of the Petunia City Square Dance Club of Beloit and also a 50 year member of Eastern Star and the order of White Shrine of Jerusalem at the Beloit Masonic Temple. She is survived by her husband, Lee Darling of Roscoe, IL; a daughter, Carla Ann Darling of Beloit; a grandson, Justin Lee Bosetti of Beloit; 2 brothers, Carmen Amoth of Walhalla, ND, and Maureen (Amalene) Amoth of Blythewood, SC; 2 sisters, Joyce (Gary) Ridley of Langdon, ND, and Judy (Ear) Moen of Nicoma, ND; a brother-in-law, Allan Darling of Langdon, ND; a sister-in-law, Betty (Lolly) Koehn of Wales, ND; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; in-laws; 2 brothers, Gerald (infant) and Kenneth Amoth; and 2 sisters-in-law, Beulah (Kenneth) Amoth and Amalene (Maureen) Amoth. Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2007, in the SCHOENFELD FUNERAL HOME , 1000 Inman Parkway, Beloit, with the Rev. Larry Froemming officiating. Burial will be in the Eastlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until 12 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Order of Eastern Star Rites will be said at 11:30 a.m.
