(Published Wednesday September 26, 2007)

Elizabeth MundschauJANESVILLE— Elizabeth M. Haines Murphy Mundschau, 80, of Arcadia, FL, formerly of Williams Bay, WI, passed into Eternal Rest on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007. She was born on June 2, 1927, on Pleasantview Farm in Dodge, WI. She was the daughter of Leo J. and Esther (Rotering) Haines. She graduated from Arcadia High School in Arcadia, WI, and attended Madison Technical College in Madison, WI. Elizabeth and Joseph J. Murphy were united in marriage on July 10, 1948, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Milton Junction, WI. He passed away on April 25, 1973. She then married A. J. Mundschau at St. Mary Catholic Church, Milton, WI. He passed away on March 30, 1998. Elizabeth loved her family very much. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren and was thrilled with the births of her great-grandchildren. She took delight in Genealogy and did the research in her own unique way. Mom had a great love of photography, always taking pictures, creating wonderful treasured memories for her family and others. She loved and took great satisfaction in her sewing. She was an excellent seamstress. Mom is especially remembered as always helping others. She was employed by Rock County for nine years. Elizabeth was of the Catholic Faith and was a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Janesville, WI, and St. Benedict Catholic Church in Fontana, WI. Elizabeth is survived by 3 sons: Joseph J. (Margie) Murphy of Janesville, WI, Patrick L. (Ruth Ann) Murphy of Stoughton and George M. Murphy of Elmwood, IL; and 2 daughters, Nancy J. (Dennis) Campbell of Cornelius, NC, and Kathleen H. Sherman of Arcadia, FL. Also surviving are grandchildren: Michael Joseph, Patrick William (Kristina), Betsy Kathleen, Morgan Elizabeth, Matthew Robert, Jennifer Lyn, Daniel McGregor Murphy, William Joseph Mickelson, Jeffrey Lee, Joseph Murphy, and Amanda McGregor (fiancé, Joel Martino) Campbell, Meagan Elizabeth (TJ) Mullen, Melody Lyn (Robert) Mueller and Robin Renee Schubring; great-grandchildren: James Joseph, Cassidy Elizabeth Murphy, Ryan Patrick, Bridgette Erin, Kyle James Mullen, Destinee Ann (Justin) Huyvaert and Lily Mueller. She is also survived by her sister, Carol T. Hass of Eau Claire, WI. Aunt Carol said that Mom was the link between their relatives; they were always informed of even the distant cousins. Family ties were so important to her. She is also survived by her special cousin, Fr. Raymond Weisenberger, SVD, of Techny, IL. She is further survived by a brother-in-law, 4 sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews and special friends. I don’t think most people realize how much Mom enjoyed her summers at her home in North Dakota. The little pioneer woman out on the prairie!

A most sincere thank you to Eugene Butts, Mom's amazing exceptional angel!
