The Annual Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary Coats for Kids program collection will begin Monday, Oct. 1, and run through Friday, Oct. 12.
The collection of nearly new and clean children and adult size winter jackets, snow pants, hats, mittens/gloves, boots, and scarves is available to children in need in North Rock County. Adult dress coats and coats with broken zippers will not be taken as part of the collection.
Collection barrels will be placed at the following sites: Creston Park Laundromat, 1603 Randolph Road; East Side Sentry, 2822 E. Milwaukee St.; Shopko, Old Humes Road; Hedberg Public Library, 316 S. Main St.; K-mart, 2233 Humes Road; Choice Cleaners, 610 E. Memorial, 1926 E. Milwaukee St. and 2919 N. Lexington; Logli Supermarket, 1501 Creston Park Drive; Sentry West, 2501 W. Court St; Pick & Save, 1717 Center Ave; Curves for Women, 1800 Humes Road, 1824 W. Court St; Wal-mart, Deerfield Drive; Piggly Wiggly, 1211 N. Main St., Edgerton; Edgerton Elementary and Middle Schools; Janesville Elementary and Middle Schools; Milton Middle School, Piggly Wiggly, 727 S. Janesville St., Milton.
Distribution of winter clothing items will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at the Salvation Army Community Center, 514 Sutherland Ave. Proof of residency is required and parents must be present with children at the time of distribution to insure proper sizing. All coats are free and have been washed or dry cleaned.
