Search tips, help
We use GoogleTM as the engine to search GazetteExtra. As such, our search feature is controlled by the way GoogleTM operates. A number of reasons could explain why you cannot locate the information you want:
- GoogleTM did not index that page yet. Google TM refreshes its index frequently; however, it may not have reached the article you want.
- The story did not appear on GazetteExtra. GoogleTM will help you locate local and state news stories that have appeared online at GazetteExtra. Not all local and state stories appear online.
- The story was from The Associated Press. Click here to search AP's site.
- If you receive a "file not found" error, it means that the story is no longer available on our server. If this happens, contact help@gazetteextra.com and we will assist you in finding the story you are looking for.
- We are unable to offer an online archive of stories, so the stories you are able to find through GoogleTM are limited to those that have appeared online in the last several months.
- If you want to search classified ads, please go to JanesvilleClassifieds.com

A limited number of back issues of The Janesville Gazette are available for purchase. Please contact our circulation department at circ@gazette extra.com for more information.
Other resources
Print editions of the Gazette are available at many area libraries. Hedberg Public Library in Janesville and the State Historical Society of Wisconsin in Madison have back issues of the Gazette available on microfilm.
