CLINTONVILLE, Wis. - A water-boiling order in effect after a water main break drained the municipal system likely will be lifted by Sunday afternoon, officials said Saturday.
Low pressure from the water main break early Friday raised the possibility of contaminants entering the water supply, so the boiling order was issued as a precaution.
City Administrator Lisa Kotter said a first round of tests Friday afternoon looked fine, and a second round of tests was taken Saturday afternoon.
The state Department of Natural Resources requires that two sets of tests taken 24 hours apart come up free of contaminants before the boiling order can be lifted.
While the ordered remained in effect, officials said water used for drinking, food preparations or ice should be kept at a full rolling boil for at least one minute prior to use.
